Ensure healthy udders

How do you take optimal care in cases of udder cleft dermatitis in dairy cattle?

BOVIUD® is an organic spray for external skin care in cases of mild or severe udder cleft dermatitis in dairy cattle.

Udder cleft dermatitis in dairy cattle is a skin irritation in the creases between both udder sections or the anterior udder and abdominal wall.

Udder cleft dermatitis is caused by poor hygiene, poor lying comfort, a high milk production, a small angle between the udder and abdominal wall, a weak attachment of the anterior udder, a deep udder, trauma, chafing and possible micro-organisms and hereditary predisposition.

Characteristics include a weeping red skin, increased sebum production, crusts, fissures, a thickening of the skin, itching, pain, fever, an abnormal smell and reduced production.

Why choose top quality?

BOVIUD® contains organic growth factors obtained from cell cultures to stimulate skin regeneration.

The growth factors support the natural healing process of the skin through the anti-inflammatory effect, the proliferation of fibroblasts, the angiogenesis and the removing of necrotic tissue.

A bottle of BOVIUD® contains: water, glucose, L-glutamine, sodium bicarbonate, phenol red, a supra-physiological concentration of bio-active growth factors, such as epidermal growth factor (EGF), hepatocyte growth factor (HGF), vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β), B-cell lymphoma 2 (BCL-2), keratinocyte growth factor (KGF of FGF7), Flt3 ligand (FL), granulocyte-colony stimulating factor (G-CSF), granulocyte-macrophage-colony stimulating factor (GM-CSF), macrophage-colony stimulating factor (M-CSF) and the cytokines interleukin-6 (IL-6), interleukin-7 (IL-7), interleukin-8 (IL-8), interleukin-11 (IL-11), interleukin-12 (IL-12), tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α).

Apply the BOVIUD® spray once daily for 3 consecutive days:

  • Thoroughly cleanse with lukewarm water and dry the damaged skin before applying the spray.
  • Make sure that the solution is at room temperature before use.
  • Each pump dispenses 0.15 ml.
  • Apply from a distance of 10 to 15 cm.
  • One treatment will require approximately 6 pumps.

In cases of severe udder cleft dermatitis, apply Boviud® spray to the area on 3 consecutive treatment days leaving 5 non-treatment days between each application.

By holding the bottle at an angle, you ensure that the opening of the straw remains submerged in the liquid and that the screw cap with the nozzle is rotated in the right direction.

The result of the treatment will become visible after 2 weeks.

BOVIUD® is packaged in a bottle containing 8 ml.

BOVIUD® has a shelf life of 3 weeks if kept in the refrigerator after opening the packaging.

BOVIUD® is stored in the freezer for 12 months at -18 °C.
