OTIKUR®

Effective relief for ears

How do you take optimal care of the ears of your dog?

OTIKUR® is a stable, water-based solution for cleaning the ears of dogs and cats.

An external ear infection, or otitis externa, is a common problem for dogs. Typical symptoms are head shaking, ear scratching, ear pain, excessive ear wax or pus, an unpleasant smell coming from the ears and redness and swelling on the inside of the ear and ear canal.

Healthy ears do not need cleaning. However, checking your pet’s ears weekly is recommended to ensure a potential infection is identified in time. Dogs with hanging ears and breeds that swim frequently are susceptible to ear infections.

Why choose top quality?

OTIKUR® dissolves excessive ear wax and cleans the inflamed, itchy and irritated external ear canal.

The active ingredients in OTIKUR® are extracted from the resin of the Norway spruce (Picea abies) and prevent in vitro the growth of micro-organisms that cause ear infections, such as Staphylococcus (pseud)intermedius (bacteria), Pseudomonas spp. (bacteria) and Malassezia pachydermatis (yeast or single-celled fungus). The effect of the innovative antimicrobial components results in a loss of viability. The cell wall and cell membrane integrity of the micro-organisms is disrupted, resulting in an immediate and persistent loss of energy (ATP). The pro-inflammatory cytokines interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β) and tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) are inhibited. The natural microbial flora of the ear is kept in balance.

OTIKUR® contains capryloyl glycine as a cleaning agent to keep the surface of the external ear canal clean.

OTIKUR® contains propylene glycol as a moisturising substance to keep the skin of the external ear canal in good condition.

OTIKUR® contains allantoin to soothe and calm the skin of the external ear canal.

A bottle of OTIKUR® contains: water, propylene glycol, glycerol, refined resin of the Norway spruce, capryloyl glycine, polysorbate 20, sodium chloride, potassium sorbate and allantoin.
